One-Pan Ground Beef Philly Cheesesteak
Serves: 4 | Prep Time: 15 minutes | Cook Time: 20 minutes
Philly Cheesesteak just got the weeknight treatment! This entire dish comes together in one pan, using ground beef for speed and a secret ingredient (cream cheese!) for ultimate, gooey richness. The Clean Monday Meals Everyday Beef Seasoning is the key to that authentic savory flavor. Lunch or dinner, this is a winner!
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
- 1 tablespoon Clean Monday Meals Everyday Beef Seasoning
- 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 1 large green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic (optional)
- 1 teaspoon Clean Monday Meals Beef Bouillon
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 4 tablespoons cream cheese, cut into cubes (or dairy-free cream cheese alternative)
- 1 cup shredded provolone or white American cheese (or a dairy-free white shredded cheese/provolone slices)
- 4-6 hoagie rolls or sub rolls (use gluten-free rolls for GF option)
Instructions:
- Brown the Beef: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and break it up with a spoon. Season the beef with the Everyday Beef Seasoning as it cooks until it is browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat and set the beef aside.
- Sauté Vegetables: Add the sliced onion and bell pepper to the same skillet. Sauté over medium heat for 8-10 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and lightly caramelized. Add the minced garlic (if using) and cook for 1 minute more.
- Create the Beef Base: In a small cup, whisk the Clean Monday Meals Beef Bouillon into the hot water until dissolved.
- Combine and Simmer: Add the cooked ground beef back into the skillet with the vegetables. Pour the beef bouillon mixture over the meat and vegetables. Stir everything together and cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the liquid to reduce slightly and the flavor to absorb into the beef.
- Add Cream Cheese: Turn the heat off. Add the cubed cream cheese (or alternative) to the mixture and stir until it is completely melted and the filling is thick and creamy.
- Assemble Cheesesteak: Divide the filling into 4-6 piles in the skillet. Top each pile generously with the shredded provolone or white cheese. Cover the skillet for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and gooey.
- Serve: Scoop the cheesy beef mixture onto your favorite hoagie or sub rolls and serve immediately.
