I have celiac… and I’ve NEVER been fed like this at a resort. 🥹

When you have celiac, food can be one of the most stressful parts of traveling. The research, the questions, explaining cross contamination and even when they tell you something is safe, there’s always that little voice wondering if you can actually trust it. Because who wants to get sick on vacation? 😩
Kev chose @grandvelasboutiquehotel for my birthday partly because of how seriously they take gluten-free dining, but I don’t think either of us realized just HOW incredible it would be.
Before I even arrived, they knew I had celiac and were prepared for me. They had different menu items and options ready so I wasn’t just limited to whatever happened to already be gluten free.
I wasn’t handed a sad GF menu with three options. I wasn’t eating plain chicken and vegetables while everyone else got the good stuff.
They actually FED me. 😂😭
Beautiful meals, breads, desserts, snacks, room service, poolside food… things I’m so used to automatically assuming I can’t have.
But the best part wasn’t even the food.
It was being able to relax.
For a few days, food wasn’t something I had to manage or constantly worry about. I got to order, eat something amazing and just enjoy my birthday.
Unless you live with celiac or a serious food allergy, it’s hard to explain how much that kind of freedom means. 🥹
Grand Velas, THIS is what gluten-free hospitality should look like. ❤️
Save this if you have celiac or travel with someone who does, because this resort just set the bar VERY high. 😂
