Fox 13 The Place

Fox 13 The Place

About a month ago, I got a message on Instagram from Fox 13 asking if I would be interested in coming on the show to discuss my meal prep, healthy eating, and all of the health conditions I face. Of course, I said yes!

The month leading up to the day of the show, I was excited but also nervous. I have never been on TV before, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I talked with several friends who have been on the show before, and they gave me some tips on what to do. After that, it all started to feel much better.

They asked me to prepare a meal for the show to demonstrate to the viewers how simple and easy meal prep can be. Deciding what to make was one of the more difficult decisions I have made in a while. After surveying some of my friends and followers, I decided to make my Healthy Ramen dish.

Luckily for me, I have the world’s most supportive husband, who also happens to be a photographer, and he documented the whole experience for me.

After passing security you wait until they bring you to the set. We waited for about 10 minutes.

All of the nerves went away as soon as Gretchen and I began chatting before she went live. Come to find out, Gretchen is as real as they come and she is also an avid “Meal Prepper” herself. I am so grateful to her for being so kind and friendly to me.

Gretchen and I live on Fox 13!

Gretchen introduced me and we began to cook/re-heat the healthy ramen meal.

The crazy thing was, as soon as the cameras began rolling, I didn’t feel nervous at all. Truth be told, I really really enjoyed being up there and in the kitchen. It felt very natural, and Gretchen is so easy to talk to. She felt like a long time friend who was in the kitchen cooking with me.

After the first segment, I had to wait a few minutes for them to run the rest of the show and then come back to me to finish up the meal. While waiting, I was able to hang out and talk with Kevin, my husband, and even saw all my family and friends’ messages flooding in.

For the final segment we put all of the food in the containers, chatted a little, and then Gretchen, and her co-host began eating the Healthy Ramen Bowls. It wasn’t nearly as stressful as I expected. I had more than enough time to prepare the food and didn’t’ feel rushed at all. I guess they liked having me on the show because the producer asked me if I would come back.
