Easy Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

Easy Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

Serves: 4 | Prep Time: 5 mins | Cook Time: 10 mins

Comfort in a bowl in under 15 minutes! Our Easy Creamy Tomato Basil Soup uses our savory CMM Tomato Bouillon directly with canned tomatoes and basil for a rich, ultra-concentrated flavor without the wait. Finished off with a silky swirl of heavy cream, it’s clean, gluten-free, and pairs perfectly with a crispy grilled cheese!

Ingredients:

  • 1 CAN (28 oz) crushed tomatoes (or whole peeled tomatoes, blended)
  • 1.5–2 tablespoons CMM Tomato Bouillon Powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil (or ¼ cup fresh basil, finely chopped)
  • ½ cup heavy cream (or full-fat coconut milk / dairy-free cream alternative)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Combine the canned crushed tomatoes, CMM Tomato Bouillon Powder, and dried basil directly in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Stir well and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  3. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let simmer gently for 8–10 minutes to allow the spices to bloom and the flavors to meld together.
  4. Turn off the heat completely and remove the pan from the burner. (If using fresh basil instead of dried, stir it in now).
  5. Pour in the heavy cream (or dairy-free cream) and stir continuously until smooth, silky, and fully incorporated.
  6. Ladle into warm bowls, top with an extra swirl of cream or fresh basil leaves and serve hot alongside your favorite grilled cheese!
    • Chef's Tip: If you used whole peeled tomatoes or prefer an ultra-silky texture, use an immersion blender right before adding the cream to blend the soup until completely smooth.
