How Do You Eat The Meals You Prep? Q&A

How I eat all the meals I prepare on Mondays

Some of the more frequent questions I receive about all the food I prep on Monday’s are:

  • How do you eat all the food you cook?
  • Do your kids also eat them, or are they just for you and your Husband?
  • Do you eat them for lunch and dinners?

These are great questions, and I’ll do my best to answer them.

Question: How do I eat all the food I cook?
Answer: Monday through Saturday, both my Husband and I usually eat two or three meals a day after breakfast and before dinner. So about every two hours, we are eating a meal. For this very reason, I intentionally make the meals slightly smaller. There is no particular reason why I do that other than this is what works best for us. We have tried eating one more substantial meal for lunch, and for some reason, we didn’t like it as much as multiple meals throughout the day.

Question: Do your kids also eat the meals, or are they just for you and your Husband?
Answer: My kids will eat the meals occasionally; it all depends on what the meal is. Since the meals I prepare are mainly for myself, they are healthy and nutritious pre-prepared meals. I learned very early after my diagnosis of Celiac Disease that unless I had food in the fridge ready to reheat for myself, I did not eat very well while being a busy mother. I realized that for me, life was so much easier when I meal prepped and didn’t have to think about what I was going to eat for lunch. Not only did lunches become much easier for me, but I also realized how much money per week we were saving. Because it just made sense to send my Husband to work with lunches every day, which meant that he never went out for lunch. More money saved, and Kevin was eating healthier. That’s what I’d call a win/win.

Question: Do you eat them for lunch and dinners?
Answer: Yes, we eat meals daily for lunches and frequently for dinner. I have become so accustomed to having pre-prepared meals in the fridge that if I don’t have them, I don’t know what to eat. I stand and blankly stare into the refrigerator and pantry.
