Here’s what we do every time we travel:
✅ Bring double or triple the supplies we’d normally need. Always. Especially for emergencies.
✅ Pack a backup meter. Even with Dexcom, we like having a meter ready in case of failed sensors or questionable readings.
✅ Extra covers for her Dexcom and pump. If we’re around water, these are a must.
✅ @activeskinrepair is our go-to if any sites get irritated or infected from adhesive.
✅ Flonase (yes, really). We used this before applying her Dexcom or pump to help prevent rashes and sensitivities. She’s mostly grown out of it, but it helped so much in the past.
✅ Lantus as backup. If her pump ever failed (it hasn’t yet—knock on wood), we’re prepared. I’ve seen this save friends mid-trip.
✅ Motion sickness medicine. Perfect for the plane or anytime she feels nauseous—helps prevent throwing up during lows.
What did I miss that you pack?
I’ll also be sharing posts on what low snacks we pack and how to breeze through airport security with all your supplies!
